Fly Baby Photos

Thursday, 1 July 2010 07:40 by Kim

This morning I opened a fun e-mail from my cousin, Stephanie Darter. She's using Shutterfly Share Sites to store, document and share all of her photos digitally.

Have you seen this??  You must!  It's really slick.  I'd call it a mixture of a blog and Facebook.  But, Shutterfly seems more photo/video friendly.  It also allows for more privacy.  You have to invite people to be a part of your site.  This makes it a great way to share pics with only close family and friends rather than the girl who sat behind you in Math class and...the World (ie. Facebook/Blog).

There's also a built in calendar so that your friends and family can keep up with baseball games, volleyball games, or 4th of July parties!

They've got great baby sites...perfect for documenting your pregnancy and baby.  Check it out:

With A Repurpose

Saturday, 26 June 2010 09:28 by Kim

Every business has waste.  Whether it be too many widgets left over or unused scraps and pieces that are too scant to use in another job.

At Peekaboo, we've been saving our itty bitty bits in the hopes of someday turning them into something wonderful.

Check out the sneak peek of our "With a Repurpose" line of art work.  These bright, 3D pieces are made with leftover fabrics, paint, paper and jewels.

This line will soon be available online in a variety of colors for boys and girls.  Currently, the pieces run from $35 (Flower), $75 (Small Tree) up to $165 (Large Tree).

If you'd like one of the pieces above or, would like us to create a custom piece based on your color palette, shoot us an e-mail below!

Boy or Girl via Sweet Surprise!

Wednesday, 9 June 2010 17:31 by Kim

I caught Catherine Ruehle with Sublime Bakery on Good Morning Texas yesterday.  At Peekaboo, we'd rather you keep the surprise of boy or girl, but if you have to find out, this is a cool way to do it!

Welcome Baby Signs

Tuesday, 11 May 2010 20:44 by Kim

Recently, my Aunt Jamie asked if I knew anyone who could create a custom welcome sign for the arrival of my cousin Jennifer's baby girl...due any day now!

Immediately, I thought of Sophia at Girltastic Grand Galas.  She did not disappoint!  Check out the adorable sign she created.  The pics really don't do it justice.

If you like the signs...you should see the parties she throws!!  Contact Sophia for more info at sophia@mygirltastic.com.

If the Crib's a Rockin'...

Monday, 15 September 2008 07:42 by Kim

Raise your hand if you're part of the 'MTV Generation' (born in mid 70's to the mid 80's).  Keep your hand up if you're thinking about having kids but are freaked out about leaving behind the life of drinks on the patio on a Sunday afternoon and entering the world of Chuckee Cheese and bounce houses.

Now, keep your hand up if you like the Wiggles.  If you have never heard of the Wiggles, chances are you will have no trouble conceiving.  I can't prove it, but I'm pretty sure that the Wiggles can be attributed to many of the infertility problems that our nation faces today.  This is why I was so excited to read Mario Tarradell's article in the Dallas Morning News over the weekend.

Our mission at Peekaboo has always been to create a nursery for today's parent that fits within your home and style...a nursery that is not only comforting for baby, but for you as well.  This helps ease us into the parenting world.  As we like to say, Dora and Thomas will make their way into your home soon enough.

Now, there's a solution in music as well!  There's no doubt that a certain 'musical' group will eventually wiggle their way in your door, but no need to throw out your favorite tunes just yet.  Tarradell's article reports on a company called Rockabye Baby who offers an alternative to the old lullaby.   Imagine listening to lullaby versions off Sunday Bloody Sunday, Enter Sandman or Smells like Teen Spirit as you travel with baby to see Grandma.  Good times for everyone!

Here are a few of the rock repertoires from....Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, U2, Nirvana, Metallica!! and so many more.

Baby Planning - Gifts: Shirts for Big Bro & Sis

Can you tell I am a kid of the 70's??  I love these Dr. Seuss newborn onesies and infant t-shirts.  For big bro/sis, one that states "Thing 1" and for baby, "Thing 2"...too cute!  I also love the colors...an alternative to the pink and blue blah!  The only downside...the sizes available are newborn thru 24 months.  So, 24 months is the largest size they offer.

Mother Rings

Sunday, 29 June 2008 17:21 by Kim

I was having lunch with my girlfriends, Julie and Angie, last week when I noticed the rings on one of my friends hand.  The rings were definitely 'Mother Jewelry,' but not your typical cheesey mother jewelry.  Not that it's not all precious but, you know what I mean, ladies.

These rings were much more subtle.  One of the rings had the name of her oldest son, Cohen engraved and the other had Emma, her little girl.  I asked where she got them and she told me she had seen them featured on Oprah and the name of the company was Nelle & Lizzie.  Well, of course, Oprah had to get to the story first, I'm ok with that.

Check them out.   I've attached the link below.  Too bad Mother's Day has already passed!  Maybe, Birthday?  Or, 4th of July gift?

As always, thank you for stopping by.

High Heels for Baby

Tuesday, 17 June 2008 08:05 by Kim

I was drinking my coffee and watching Fox News this morning when I saw a story on these baby high heel shoes.  I only caught the tail end but, it was obvious that Megyn Kelly, the morning anchor, was not happy with these shoes.  As I said, I did miss the begining of the story, but I assume she was unhappy because dressing your baby girl in these shoes could be seen as sexualizing baby.  After reading a few other blog posts on the shoes, many seem to agree.

Maybe I'm twisted, but I can kind of see the humor.  Actually, after seeing the shoes, my first thought was, 'They're not that cute. I would have made them strappier'  Now after reading all of the complaints, perhaps there are more pervs looking for sexy babies out there than I thought.  I am definitely not in favor of dressing kids to be sexual objects.  So, I'm thinking as long as you don't accompany the baby high heels with baby girl's short skirt, low-cut top and her hooker red lipstick, you should be fine.  Maybe a nice pant suit would be better.

Now, I am questioning whether or not I should have bought my 3-year-old niece the case of plastic high heel dress up shoes.

Here is the website:  http://www.heelarious.com/

I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for visiting!
